Artist Statement: I never thought art would transform my life. Art hasn’t always been something I wanted to do. I remember when I was younger, the question asked was “What do you want to be when you grow up?” I was adamant about becoming a pediatrician. But ever since that one art class I took in seventh grade, the trajectory of my life has changed. I experimented in my first sketchbook (I got at 14), I tried different styles and gave up at times, but continued to find my niche. Today, I strive to become a better artist through practice and motivation. My main mediums I use is graphite pencil and a good, ol' Micron pen. I also use soft pastels, acrylic paint, other materials depending on the surfrace I'm working on, such as a canvas, sketchbook, or mixed media paper. I'm mostly an abstract artist, but I like to explore new things to draw to enhance my craft. I'm inspired by my everyday surroundings and where I am at a given moment. Art is my passion and will always be my "why" in life.
